Need guidance on building a native app for SocialEngine

Hello all,

I am looking for some guidance on how to go about building a native app for android to support access to SocialEngine. Specific area that I am looking for is Signing into SocialEngine (and all the session related logic that goes with it).

Currently myself and a couple of my team mates have tried things with phonegap. We're able to get the native app working for hardcoded values and by querying public API endpoint's that we built on SocialEngine installation that return JSON data. We're able to view some SocialEngine data on the native app on the device.

Our challenge now is to hide these API's behind authentication and allow access only through valid credentials.

Any help on this is much appriciated. Looking forward for a response. Thanks in advance.

    Hey Mates,

iPragmatech have developed the SocialEngine REST API is a SocialEngine add-on that allows you to integrate your SocialEngine installation with third party ERP or CRM solutions and also for the native mobile answer.

API is easily accessible with HTTP call and also follow the REST Architecture.I think , for native app , SocialEngine REST API  is the best solution.

    Hey Rajiv

I will suggest to create a socialengine module with REST API structure and install in thw website. In that Plugin, you can send sent data  in json format.I think its best way for native app.

    Hopefully It shall help you.
