SocialEngine was purchased by Room214

Hey everyone.

I've just became aware that SocialEngine is no longer developed by Webligo. According to this article Alex Benzer and 2 leading programmers are working on a new startup since December.

There is still no official announcement, except a note from the article that SocialEngine was purchased by social media agency Room214. Has anyone heard anything about this company?

Hopefully we will get a more serious updates for SocialEnging PHP after the switch of owners.

UPDATE: there is a press release done by some PR company. But still no official post on blog, twitter or facebook.

Now they will most likely get rid of all third party developers listed on their site.

On the other hand their dev services are most likely expensive, and most of the SE customers are rather poor and won't be able to pay $100 an hour for dev work...

One thing for sure, new owner = new rules.

Why would they do that? Variety of 3rd party plugins is what makes SocialEngine so different from other script.

I've contacted SocialEngine about this yesterday. They promised to make an official announcement soon. If I understand correctly this purchase was not public before Jan 17.

All previous SE developers are still listed as developments team on website, though it's no longer correct

I've never heard about Room214 before. I hope it will be a change for better.
